This past week was full of celebration and good company, and I'm leaving it with my cup full, so let’s dive right in!
Friday night, we celebrated Jonathan’s birthday with a date night at Kyoten Next Door. A night out without the girls distracting us, paired with amazing sushi? An ideal Friday.
Saturday, we hosted a color theory event at DRD, where people got their seasons analyzed and found out which colors suit them best. It was slightly painful watching person after person get told they look amazing in black—meanwhile, I got assigned a color palette that requires actual color. (If you’re curious about my color analysis—including what makeup I should be wearing—here’s the link.)
After a full day of events, I wrapped up Saturday at Park West for Matt Friend’s comedy special. We ended the night at River Shannon, and no, I did not get carded...
A while back, I figured five years at DRD deserved more than just a "Congrats!"—so, Chanel bags became the tradition. Because honestly, what says "You made it!" better than Chanel? Plus, I’ll never say no to a little bag shopping. Blair was in town, so I got to surprise her with her five year anniversary gift and celebrate this big milestone with the team.
That night, I had a cozy family night in for Jonathan’s actual birthday. I would like to say that I did step up my decor, and I am fully giving myself credit for that one.
Wednesday was all about Lulu and her science fair project. I couldn’t help but laugh, thinking about how different it is from when I was a kid. Back then, we had to come up with a whole hypothesis and worry about variables. Lulu, on the other hand, just grew crystals. So much simpler—and honestly, a lot less stressful. But she did amazing, and I left with one very proud mom moment.
Thursday morning started off rough—I booked a blowout at Drybar, only to show up and find a sad little note on the door saying they were closed until Sunday. They moved my appointment to the Lincoln Park location with no warning, so love that for me.
Wrapping up the week with some Female Founded Friday love in honor of Women’s History Month! This week, I’m highlighting one of my favorites—Favorite Daughter. I’m obsessed with this bodysuit! If you keep up, you know I wore it in India and also have it in black. And I just got this belt with yellow and white gold metal—such a good statement piece!
It was a week with a little bit of everything, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s to celebrating it all, big and small.
Off to celebrate St. Patty’s Day in Chicago, so until next time!
xx Dana
