A Jewelry Designer's Guide to Styling Your Cuban Chain Pieces
Dare I say this chain is *nearly* tangle-proof?!
She’s the new “It Girl” in your jewelry box. The bold balance to your dainty pieces. The statement to your subtle sparkle. I’ve been a huge sucker for this chain style over the past year, and frankly, I think the obsession grows every day.

How I’m Styling My Cuban Chains
One: Chains on Chains
If you have a simple top you want to dress up (especially with a low cut neckline), I love layering multiple Cuban chains. It’s an easy way to create an impactful look with minimal effort. My go-to is yellow gold for a look like this, but as we now know from my recent color analysis, I should apparently be wearing white gold most of the time. Who knew?
Two: All the Texture!
Ignore the apron, I was in the middle of dinner at a restaurant in India (they give you an apron as a napkin, called a Peshawri!) and I couldn’t help but snap a photo of my neck stack. When in doubt, mix textures—I layered a Cuban chain, link station necklace, and my fave tennis necklace here. I should also add, layering different textures and chain weights makes your neck stack virtually tangle-proof! It’s really a win all around. A bold stack like this works so well with the simplicity of a crew neck tee! (And an apron—obviously.)

Three: Make Her the Star
The thing I love about Cuban chains is they’re bold enough to wear alone, but also layer well. If your jewelry box is already filled with dainty, delicate styles on traditional cable chains, I highly recommend adding a Cuban chain to the mix—it adds the perfect amount of edge and makes any stack stand out. I droooool over this white gold look!
Tip: If you’re layering with more delicate chains, I recommend making your Cuban chain necklace the shorter of the stack—around 16-18” in length. Your daintier chains should be 18-20” or longer for a look like this.
I’ll also just leave this here…

Four: I Like Bold Bracelet Stacks and I Cannot Lie
Listen, I am who I am… and I love a wrist stacked high with bold cuffs, chains, and diamonds. I personally prefer a bolder look, where no bracelet gets “lost” visually in the stack, but rest assured that Cuban chains are also stunning with one or two more delicate bracelets or a classic tennis bracelet if those are already in your collection.
One of my newest is my Nana Bernice, inspired by my grandmother. All of our Cuban chain bracelets are made with a box clasp and safety snap, too, so the look is seamless from all angles and extra secure!

P.S. There is more where this came from… more Cuban chain pieces here!
