Back again for a weekly recap—and this weekend, I’m not traveling!!
Even though I’m staying put now, I actually started my weekend on a plane with a trip to Kamalame Cay. It’s super remote—you fly into Nassau, then hop on a tiny little plane to the island of Andros. The trip was for YPO and such an amazing mix of people. I lost my voice from talking so much, but I honestly loved every second of it.
Then Monday rolled around and it was my birthday! I ended up spending most of the day at home because Lulu got sick (though I think she just missed me—and honestly, I missed her too, so I was more than happy to be with her). I made a quick stop at DRD before picking up Poppy and her friend from school to go to dance. The team surprised me with the prettiest pink cake from Sweet Mandy B’s and a gorgeous flower arrangement from Bloom3LaGrange.
Even though I spent the day at home, I snuck out for dinner at Zarella and the pizza was incredible. Lulu being under the weather aside, I’m looking forward to another trip next weekend—a birthday getaway with my mom, sister, and sister-in-law! Until then I am obsessing over my birthday gift, the Striped fabric mini-pouch from Prada
In other big news: my parents moved down the street! They’ve lived in the suburbs my whole life and are giving city life a try. They’re now just five blocks from me—and my mom’s already been over to babysit a ton.
On Wednesday, we had our DRD book club! This time we read Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy. I didn’t love it until I was about 65% in, but I’ve been thinking about it since, so I guess it made an impact. It’s funny how you have one opinion, and then you sit down with a bunch of women and suddenly some 5-star ratings turn into 4s—or vice versa. I just love being in a book club and actually getting to hear everyone’s perspectives.
I was also able to go to a Chelsea Handler event mid week. I’ve always admired how funny, vocal, and open she is, so hearing her speak in person was such a great experience.

Ended the week with a surprise Friday lunch celebration that totally filled my cup. Closing out the birthday fun as I head into a big family wedding weekend.
Till next week!
xx Dana
What a busy week you had! Sounds like fun.
