To say this week has been long and stressful would be an understatement, but I want to be transparent about what’s happening with DRD—so let’s get into it.
Gold just hit $3,000, an all-time high. For context, when I first started in this industry, gold was around $650 an ounce. I’ve always been committed to being honest about what goes on behind the scenes at Dana Rebecca, and this price increase is hitting hard. We’re going to have to raise prices, so if you’ve had your eye on something, now’s the time to snag it.
On top of that, one of my longest-standing manufacturers shut down last week. This factory helped bring so many of our pieces to life—Lauren Joy Minis, DRD Huggies, Ava Bea Flexi Cuffs, and more. It’s a big loss, and honestly, I feel like I’m being tested more than ever as a business owner. To be completely real—it’s really, really hard right now.
But amidst the chaos, I did get a little breather. I flew to Florida early Wednesday for a pop-up at Boca Bridges Clubhouse and squeezed in some much-needed quality time with Jen, her family, and my parents. Right now, I’m holding onto those little moments more than ever, and those two days made my week.
If there’s one silver lining in all of this, it’s getting to go through it with my siblings. We’ve always been close, but working together during times like this reminds me how lucky I am to have them by my side. No one understands the highs and lows of this business quite like they do, and even in the hardest moments, I know I’m not alone in figuring it out. We lean on each other, push through together, and even find moments to laugh when it feels like everything is crumbling. That kind of support is something I don’t take for granted.
And speaking of people I love—today is Lulu’s birthday! I’ve been planning the perfect day for my little bird, and I can’t believe she’s turning 8. Time is flying, and I just want to soak up every second. Follow along on Instagram Stories to see all the birthday fun!
So, that’s where I’m at. A tough week, but also reminders of what really matters. Thanks for being here through it all.
xx Dana
