My social life is thriving, and honestly… I’m kind of loving it??? As a self-proclaimed homebody, I’ve somehow been fully booked and busy lately—dare I say, I’m feeling like an extrovert. Let’s break down this jam-packed schedule.
Saturday was all about St. Paddy’s Day celebrations (yes, Paddy, not Patty—I have been humbled by the internet). I usually hit up the same spot to watch the river turn green, but this year, we switched it up. Let’s just say… they went all out. Bagpipers, festive chaos, and the full Irish spirit in effect. Then, we ended up at Hugo’s in Gold Coast, where we were greeted by even more bagpipers—specifically, the Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band. I don’t think I’ve ever been surrounded by more bagpipers in my life.
Sunday was ambitious for someone who values a slow start to the week, but here I am—still standing. I kicked things off with a trip to The Derm Collective in North Shore for some routine Botox (because self-care waits for no one). I love Dr. Pritzker—she’s an angel and the only person I trust to inject my face. Then, instead of winding down and preparing for Monday like a responsible adult, I went to a concert on a Sunday night. Yes, a Sunday night. I saw GoldFord, one of Noah’s best friends, and they were SO GOOD. The vibes were immaculate, the music was top-tier, and somehow, I survived it all. Monday morning was a little rough, but honestly? Worth
March Madness kicked off at DRD this week! If you missed it, we had a hoops bracket going for DRD Hoops (winner reveal coming soon on IG), and now we’re keeping the fun going with 15% off hoops and huggies until 3/23. If you’re looking for a sign to treat yourself, this is it—my top picks are the Poppy Rae Pebble Hoops, Ava Bea U Hoops, or Nana Bernice Knot Huggies. A deal this good deserves to be taken advantage of, IMO.
Work was just as busy as my social calendar. We hosted an event with Curio, celebrated three team birthdays (Nicole, Olivia, and Andrea), and, of course, got our traditional Mardi Gras cake. If you don’t know, my friend Jen B (we call her Jeb) sends one every year, and inside is a hidden baby—whoever finds it gets good luck for the year. This time, Kelsey found the baby, and it now lives on her desk.
Wrapped up the workweek with a trip to our factory, where Noah and I took on some very important candy taste-testing (one of our favorite pastimes, obviously). We kicked things off with Reese’s PB&J Cups—solid 10/10 from me, 9.2 from Noah (tough critic). Then came the Not Fried Chicken ice cream… and let’s just say, it was an experience. It legit looked like a chicken wing, complete with a chocolate ‘bone’ inside. Wild. And finally, the Sweet Corn ice cream sandwich—it smelled exactly like corn on the cob when I unwrapped it, but plot twist… it was actually delicious! f you live in Chicago and are ever looking to try new things, my go-to place is Gangnam Market in River West.
Now, after all this socializing, I’m wrapping up the week with zero plans—and I could not be happier. Time for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
