I missed last week’s recap because I was so sick. And aside from binge-watching Is It Cake? on Netflix (groundbreaking, I know), there wasn’t much to report. But this week? My calendar was full. So, let’s cut to the chase.
Monday started strong with a Women’s History Month breakfast with the DRD team. Having an all-girl team (aside from Noah) is something I take so much pride in, so I wanted to make sure we hit pause on the daily grind to talk about things we never get to—like whether mouth tape actually works (it does!) and our thoughts on The Real Housewives. We built our own açaí bowls, loaded up on avocado toast, and by the end, both my heart and stomach were full.
On Tuesday, DRD hosted an all-female founders event to celebrate the incredible work women are doing. It’s not lost on me that women aren’t ruling the world yet… but I believe we’re on our way. Events like this remind me why I started Dana Rebecca at 16—driven, passionate, and ready to chase my dreams, just like every other powerhouse in that room. You could feel the energy the second you walked in. And on top of hosting female founders, who would I be if I didn’t feature them at the event as well? We had FARE for catering and Juliet for wine. Everyone got to go home with Violet Flame Chocolate and A2B Essentials to bring a little bit of female-founded joy home with them. It was such a good morning.
On Wednesday, I hosted a YPO women’s dinner. We transformed the showroom into a dreamy dining space, complete with stunning florals and a private chef. YPO events always inspire me, but hosting these conversations in my own space? Even better. One of my favorite moments was when we all shared our most meaningful jewelry memories. Some were childhood stories, others were happening right there in that moment. We laughed, we cried, we felt all the things. What a way to wrap up the week of events.
Now, I want to hear from you—what’s your favorite jewelry memory? Leave a comment and tell me!
In between all that, I kept the female-founded spirit going—both in the kitchen and on my Kindle.
First up, Bethenny Frankel’s cottage cheese bagels. OMG. These are officially in permanent rotation (even Lulu likes them, and if you know Lulu, that means something). The recipe is easy: 1 cup flour, 1¼ cups whipped cottage cheese, 1½ teaspoons baking powder. Egg wash, season, and bake at 375° for 20–30 minutes. Best. Bagels. Ever. The DRD girls are hooked too.
And when I wasn’t baking? I was reading. Lately, I’ve been keeping up with Beach Reads & Bubbly and loving her book recs and reviews. Bonus? She’s been rocking the Ava Bea Station Necklace. A woman of taste.
Now that the week is over, I am going to be SAT. A much-needed rest is coming, and I hope you all take the weekend to do the same.
xx, Dana
My favorite jewelry memory is always trying on my mom’s engagement ring as a little girl. I knew from a young age that I loved the look of diamonds haha
