We started our week with a short trip to Miami, stopping at Aviv in South Beach to try Chef Michael Solomonov’s food—it was so good, we were still talking about it the next day as we headed to Boca on Monday to see my parents.
The whole point of the trip was spring break for the girls, but on top of that, we got to spend some real time with my parents. It’s rare these days to have time with just them and the girls, so we really tried to soak it in.
We ate a lot of Israeli food this trip—specifically back-to-back. First at Avev, then at Motek, a newer spot we hadn’t tried before. No complaints.
We managed to squeeze in some Italian too, with a trip to Lynora’s (one of Izzy’s favorites), plus meals at Gabriella’s Modern Italian and Deluca’s. Balanced it all out with a healthy-ish stop at Pura Vida. Safe to say, this trip leaned heavily into the "eat well" part of the itinerary.
It rained a couple of days, so we did the Adventure Vault escape room called “Death and Breakfast.” It was supposedly kid-friendly, but it started with all six of us being handcuffed. Casual. My mom and I were literally attached to a maze wall, and Izzy had a key, which we thought would free us—but nope, it just unlocked a drawer. There was fake blood and gore… definitely more intense than expected. Lulu’s been sleeping in a twin bed with Poppy ever since. We finished in 51 minutes (with 9 minutes to spare), and apparently the fastest anyone’s done it is 23—which feels impossible.
Passover is this Saturday, so we’ll be celebrating with a Seder at my parents’. Just feeling grateful for this time and the chance to reset a little.
On the business side of things, the 90-day pause in tariffs came at the perfect time. It’s definitely a bit of a relief, even though stress is still high. Trying to take the breather where we can. I appreciate all of you who reached out when you saw the news. I am very lucky to have such a supportive community.
Till next week
