Weekly Recap Apr. 13-19
You know those weeks that feel like an entire month wrapped into five days? That was this one. Let’s break it down, shall we?
We kicked things off with a Mother’s Day photoshoot at The Studio in Chicago featuring the girls. Poppy and Lulu were in full model mode—and Kat brought baby Vivi, who just turned five months and is quite literally the cutest baby ever. She may have thrown up on Lulu (sorry, Lulu), which promptly sparked a brand-new irrational fear. TBD if she’ll recover.
Lulu did look adorable in the Ava Bea Crossovers though—so cute I let her take them home. She’s basically earned them at this point.
On Tuesday, we launched a long-awaited collab with Jacey Duprie! It’s an homage to motherhood, and we even included a matching mother-daughter necklace. Jacey said it best:
“From one generation to the next, this collection is a celebration of the women who shape us—and the stories we carry forward.”
There are three new pieces, and let me tell you—the tennis necklace? Already the top seller. If you’ve been eyeing it, now’s the time. It’s one of those suddenly-wear-it-every-day-with-everything pieces.
Wednesday was our big anniversary meeting (how is it already mid-April?!). And I mean big. We’re turning 18 on May 18—our golden birthday!—and yes, we’re going all out. Can’t share details just yet, but go ahead and mark your calendars. Champagne optional but very much encouraged.
Thursday, our price increase officially went into effect. Deep breath.
Here’s the deal—being in the jewelry business right now and pretending we’ve got it all under control? LOL. We’ve always been super transparent about pricing and quality because that’s what you deserve. But across the board, costs are rising, and we’re doing everything we can to keep our promise without compromising the pieces you love.
This has honestly been one of the hardest phases of running Dana Rebecca Designs. But 18 years in (!!!), and I still feel so lucky to be doing this—especially with this community.
We ended the week on a sweet note with Blair’s baby sprinkle! We had a baby food taste test that was supposed to be a mystery… until Colleen and Kelsey labeled each jar “1a,” “2m,” “3b” (a very obvious cheat code, but still fun).
We hid nine Binkies around the showroom for a scavenger hunt the girls loved. And of course, Chipotle—Blair’s forever fave from her city days—and a Sweet Mandy B’s cake to top it all off. If that’s not the ultimate Friday, I don’t know what is.
And that’s a wrap! I’ll be laying low this weekend, recharging, and packing—because I’m back on the road Monday afternoon.
xx Dana
